Aldo Londi 'Sahara' Studio Pottery Vase for Ceramiche Paoli Italy 1960s
This is a beautiful mid-century Italian studio pottery vase by the famous designer Aldo Londi for Ceramiche Paoli in Montelupo Fiorentino Italy.
Best known for his distinct studio pottery designs for Bitossi, he also designed a few pieces for other ceramic workshops like Ceramiche Bruno Paoli from the same Italian village near Florence in Tuscany. For this series - called Sahara - he used the intricate and rich patterns he was used to work with at Bitossi, but added some other colors to create a unique blend of color and pattern. Please note the wonderful shape of this vase - round with flatted sides.
This vase comes in a very good condition and is signed at the base.
