Constructivist Coffee Table in Solid Oak and Ceramic 1960s

€2,950.00

This is a beautiful and heavy constructivist coffee table in solid oak with a ceramic top, 1967. It is most probably French or Belgian.

Quite spectacular in its genre, this brutalist table in solid oak and ceramic has a lot going for it. Just look at the beautiful colors used in the ceramic top and the wonderful constructivist base in solid oak beams. Most of these ceramic and oak tables are made in a rather traditional and middle-of-the-road style, but this one stands out due to the proportions, the use of color and the base - which shows both Japanese and modernist influences.

The top is made out of solid oak and shows a large ceramic slab which is colorfully glazed in a tile-like pattern - there are no individual tiles.

Comes in a very good vintage condition with some minor signs of age and use. Dated 1967 underneath.

Dimensions: W. 130 x D. 77 x H. 41 cm
