Antique Edwardian Ebonized Arts and Crafts Side Table Early 1900's

€1,450.00

This is a very lovely Edwardian arts and crafts inspired side table in ebonized wood. Wonderful elegant design with Eastern influences and a very beautiful shaped top. The ebonized wood has a deep dark color with the original wood color shining trough on different occasions which gives the table a very rich appearance.

The table has been made in the early 1900’s - most certainly in between 1900 and 1910 during the Edwarding reign. It is clearly inspired by works of the late 19th century arts and crafts movement. It resembles works by E. W. Godwin, George Washington Jack and James Schoolbred, who were amongst others influential designers of the time. As it is an antique side table, it bears signs of age and use - which only add to the charm of the table.

The paint on the top shows some craquelé and overall there is a lovely patina on the ebonized surfaces to enjoy. Signed with two X’es on every leg.

Dimensions: W. 52 x D. 52 x H. 69 cm
