Mid Century Matte Glazed Eared Studio Pottery Vase 1960s

€495.00

This well-sized handmade eared studio pottery vase origins from France, 1960s. It has a sphere-like shape, with a tapered top and a narrow opening. It features two basic half round ears, positioned on top of the sphere. The dark athracite to black surface is nicely finished with a matte glaze, emphasizing its theatrical appearance. The only decorative elements it shows, are a few subtle grooves in the surface of the upper part, following the shape of the sphere. The inside was finished in off-white glaze, yet with an eartly red circle at the opening, showing the original color of the red clay used for this piece.

This piece is in a beautiful condition with nice patina. It shows great craftmanship, making it a desirable decorative piece. Attractive and timeless, both with and without flowers.
